Our History
Cathedral of Praise Church of God in Christ, International is located in the South End of Bridgeport, Connecticut. The church was founded in 1956 by the late Bishop Alonzo T. Turner, and was formerly known as “Turner’s Faith Temple.”
In 1979, Archbishop John C. White began leading the ministry at our former location, 360 Colorado Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. The ministry saw tremendous growth under the leadership of Archbishop White and in 2008, the church moved into it’s newly built worship edifice located at 45 Gregory St., Bridgeport, CT.
In January, 2022, after 42 years of pastoral leadership, Archbishop White took on the role of Overseer as his eldest daughter, Pastor Michon White-Bernard was elevated to the position of Senior Pastor.
Pastor Michon, as she is affectionately known, is dedicated to continuing the vision the Lord gave to her parents and seeing that vision come to full fruition.
From our humble beginnings and throughout our journey as a church body, God has demonstrated through countless moments that both His faithfulness and His favor is upon us.
